CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Risk Control unit of CNA was recently recognized for its excellence
in risk engineer development by UL, a world leader in advancing safety.
The new professional designation, UL Recognized Risk Engineer (RRE), was
awarded to approximately 200 of CNA’s Commercial Risk Control staff in
the U.S., Canada and Europe, based on the strength of its risk control
services, educational offerings and ongoing professional development.
“We are proud that our work with UL now sets a new standard of risk
engineering excellence in the industry,” said Bob Lindemann, president
and chief operating officer, CNA Commercial. “The RRE designation
further demonstrates to our customers that CNA has the unique expertise
to provide them with customized risk control and insurance solutions for
their businesses.”
During the past six months, UL conducted an assessment of CNA’s risk
engineering training and development programs, including analyzing
curriculum, design, exam questions, metrics and proficiency testing in
Property, Automobile, Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and
Product Liability. Moving forward, UL will be working with CNA and other
industry representatives in developing the future designation of
Certified Risk Engineer for the entire insurance industry.
“We congratulate CNA and its risk engineers on their achievement as the
first to earn our recognition for excellence in risk engineer
development, and for helping to raise the bar of safety excellence,”
said Douglas Grillaert, general manager, UL.
