CNA Appoints New Vice President Of Corporate Development

CHICAGO, June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA Financial Corporation (NYSE: CNA) today announced the appointment of Derek Smith as vice president of Corporate Development effective June 12. In this role, Derek will be overseeing Investor Relations, Rating Agency Management, Capital Management, and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Derek Smith comes to CNA from Macquarie Capital Inc., where he served as vice president in the Investment Banking Division advising clients in the property and casualty, life and health, insurance brokerage and insurance services sectors. Prior to Macquarie, he worked for General Electric Company as an associate in its Corporate Audit Staff and analyst in its Financial Management Program.
