Company to help promote the industry through social media, trade
shows and webinars

CNA is proud to endorse the first-ever Manufacturing Day on October 5,
2012. The day will highlight the importance of the Manufacturing
industry to the United States economy and draw attention to the many
rewarding high-skill jobs available within the industry.
“We are well aware that there are upwards of 600,000 vacant
manufacturing jobs in the United States,” said Steve Earley, Vice
President and Manufacturing Segment Leader –CNA. “That is why CNA is
proud to endorse important initiatives like Manufacturing Day, which
seek to fill the talent pipeline within this industry.”
Manufacturing Day is for students, parents, educators, media, customers,
suppliers and the community at large. Through open houses, public tours,
career workshops and other events, visitors will learn about real career
opportunities, training, and resources. In addition, manufacturers will
learn about business improvement resources and services delivered
through manufacturing extension partnerships.
CNA will continue the celebration of Manufacturing Day on Facebook and
Twitter throughout the whole month of October with games, safety tips
and helpful manufacturing-related facts. CNA will also be promoting its
direct industry involvement at various trade shows, as well as by
hosting a webinaron October 26thtitled Human
Factors – The Aging Workforce. The informational webinar will
explore the various ways you can learn how to help your aging workers
improve their efficiency, decrease work-related injuries, and positively

Manufacturing Day is co-produced by Rockford, Ill.-based Fabricators &
Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the U.S. Commerce
Department'sHollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), the
National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and The Manufacturing
Institute. It is supported by dozens of national and regional
manufacturing associations, including CNA.
