downtown revitalization
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
CNA hosted a Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting
ceremony on July 31, 2012 to unveil its new office space located at the
Lumber Exchange Building, 101 S. Reid Street. CNA moved in as the anchor
tenant in May 2012.
“Through our subsidiary, Western Surety Company, CNA has been a strong
partner in Sioux Falls for more than 112 years,” said John Welch,
president – Surety, CNA. “This move demonstrates our ongoing commitment
to Sioux Falls’ downtown revitalization, as well as our employee base.”
At the ribbon cutting, Welch was joined by more than 200 local business
and governmental leaders. CNA executives included: Peter Wilson;
president and chief operating officer - Specialty; and Paul Bruflat,
vice president - Commercial Surety/Manager of Sioux Falls Operations.
The Sioux Falls operation currently employs approximately 365 people who
underwrite small contract and commercial surety and fidelity bonds.
Additional key support functions include customer service, agency
services, billing and collections, claim handling, and information
technology.
The Sioux Falls operation, which began as the Western Surety Company in
1900, became part of CNA Surety in 1997 and was bought out by its parent
company CNA Financial Corporation in 2011.
